Charlie Young physically assaults and is abusive towards a female junior.

An internal BJA disciplinary process concludes Charlie Young was in breach of BJA policies and regulations by actions defined as Gross Misconduct.
Chelie Young is given a warning and a competition ban.

March 2025 – April 2026
An external independent investigation unit conducts interviews and collects evidence.
It concludes that Charlie Young has a case to answer for 22 allegations upheld!

The BJA CEO accepts the independent report in full and secretly suspends Charlie Young.
An anonymous post alerts the Judo community that Charlie Young has been suspended.

July 2026
A short disciplinary process, by a BJA appointed panel, concludes Charlie Young’s acts of Gross Misconduct only warrants a short supension that is lifted immediately.
Behaviour bringing the BJA into disrepute, including:
” …findings of physical assault, sexual harrasment, the use of racist, homophobic and misoginistic language, detrimental to the reputation of British Judo.”
