After being reported by GBJC – only!
Acknowledged and discussed in the GB Judo Community FaceBook group – only!.
After publishing these serious safeguarding failings the GB Judo Community launched a petition late 2023 for a public coach registry.
This was followed shortly afterwards by the BJA seeking feedback in a survey, April 2024, that in only 2 weeks received 500 reponses with 94% agreeing with a public coach registry.
Now, the British Judo Association Ltd (BJA) has launched a public coach registry.
If it is the first time you have heard about the above cases and the process?
You should be asking yourself who has been censoring your judo FaceBook group and why?

Why Judo Associations have been slow to react and in the past and tried to cover up safeguarding failings is beyond doubt.
If you are part of the “favoured few 5%”, supporting management, there is a two-tier rule system in effect.
When it was exposed how Bob Challis and Comberton Judo club just carried on after Bob Challis had been suspended by the BJA, they issued a short statement. (see reference)

When published, the BJA CEO, Andrew Scoular, and BJA Chair, Ronnie Saez, lied about the findings & reccomendations in a Board meeting.
As a direct result of the BJA Safeguarding failings in this case, now all BJA clubs must have a CWO in place and abide by an ever increasing number of regulations. Paid for by grassroots judo clubs themselves.
If you are part of the favoured few, then many regulations and rules do not seem to apply.
Such as …
My advice remains the same, if you have a safeguarding complaint or concern of a serious nature, report it to the police first and then to yor judo association.
You can contact GBJC, in full confidence, via the contact page with questions about the above cases.

BJA Public Statement after rigging the disciplinary panel in the internal bullying complaint made by Lulu Piovesana.
The BJA CEO, Andrew Scoular, repeating the lie it was “an independent panel” and the investigation was conducted to “the highest standards” in an Open Letter.

The truth is that the CEO, Andrew Scoular, and BJA Management had rigged the panel with Lisa Allan and misled UKSport.
BJC Vice Chair, Neil Harrison, lying about the timeline of events and what a BJC safeguarding manager stated about Darren Rolph when asked.
