In the previous Regional School competition season, 2024-2025, ineligble player were identified after concerns about this were raised in the GBJC FaceBook group.
Upon crow-sourcing the issue of National medallists and high ranked players having competed, against the rules and spirit of judo, at the 2025 BJA Midland Regional Schools championships.
It had also happened at the BJA Southern Area Regional Schools competition, that along with the BJA Eastertn Area competition, had outdated ineligble restrictions in their documentation.
Upon being notified, the BJA Safeguarding Manager, Andy Bowley, responded that the issue had been sorted.
Ineligble Players at this competition has been defined as:
“Any player who has won any medal at a British Pre-Cadet, Cadet, Junior or Senior
Championships in December 2025.”“EXCEPTION: any medallist who won less than two contests IS eligible.”
Below is the PDF file containing all Medallists from the British Judo Championships 2025.
See competition document for the dedicated competition safeguarding officer, if specified.
